Best Overall Achievement

This award is presented to the group that exemplified excellence in managing the design process, effectively executing the plan as a team, and developing a prototype that shows promise towards further development and subsequent commercialization. The group excelled throughout the semester and showed a strong understanding of all aspects of medical device design and combined this with strong teamwork and an innovative approach to a clinically relevant clinical problem.

This award is presented to the group that developed the most innovative design throughout the process. The group that receives this award demonstrated the most "out of the box" thinking which lead to a very unique solution to a real problem.

This award is presented to the group that managed the design process most effectively  and efficiently throughout the semester. The group showed an excellent understanding of the stages of medical device design and applied it to a new device in an elegant manner.

Closest to Commercialization

This award is given to the group that develops a prototype that is farthest along the design pathway to commercialization. The design must be a comprehensive accomplishment that not only covers the original idea but also includes design elements that need to be addressed prior to commercialization.
